The City of Auburn is located in Lee County in eastern Alabama. Auburn is home to Alabama University, a public university with over 24,000 students. Alabama University is the primary economic driver in the city of Auburn and provides employment and related services for a significant percentage of the population.

Prospective students and parents may visit Auburn University. Family campus tours are available through the website located at the link posted below this text. The University offers campus visits on Saturday Mornings in the fall starting at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. prior to home football games only. Group tours are available for groups of Nine to One Hundred students and leave the Quad Center Tuesday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 pm. Except for Saturday's, Parking and shuttle service is available at the The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University.

Museum of Fine Arts

The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts is located on the Auburn University Campus. The museum features a number of exhibitions, collections, educational programs and special events. One of the collections is the The Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Collection. These drawings, paintings and engravings of John Audubon provide early accounts of American wildlife. The collection includes over 100 of Audubon's most important prints. Another collection at the museum is Advancing American Art that contains oil paintings and watercolors that were originally part of an exhibition of paintings that demonstrated the ascendancy of American art at the mid-century. The museum contains other collections and exhibitions that provide educational stimulation and visual enjoyment.

Surfside Water Park

Surfside Water Park in Auburn features a 450,000 gallon wave pool, water slides and a lazy river that meanders throughout the park. The water park also has an area dedicated for younger children that covers 5,000 Square Feet. There are shaded pavilions, volleyball and concession stands in the park with Certified Life Guards to help keep the children and adults safe. The park generally opens daily in late may through early August but is also open weekends until early September. Please call ahead to check the current schedule of days and hours.

Robert Trent Jones
Golf Trail at Grand National

If you love golf the two Robert Trent Jones 18-hole championship courses are great public courses. The courses are open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset and a fully stocked golf shop is available. You can also use the practice range, putting greens and stay at the lodge that is located on site. The fees vary throughout the year so call ahead for more information
